Message of the project
I think cows and bulls are very important animals in culture of Argentina, especially in the Chaco region. For me they are also a sign of the power, virtue.

Interview to Gleb Tkachenko

• What’s the place that you live like?
I have many places to live, my parents’ house in home town with big atelier and big land where I can work, mostly at the summer time!.
• Can you share with us a happy memory from your childhood?
My happiest memory from the childhood was whole summer stay with my grandmother at the see side, she teach me how to swim, and I ate the tastiest food she prepared for us!.
• When did your love for sculptures begun?
My parents are sculptors too, so since i remember myself I had no regular toys, I have a lot of plasticine, so I could make anything from it and I did!.
• What does art mean in your life?
It’s mean the life, every time something new, something interesting, and filled with my love!.
• Do you have any other profession besides sculpting?
Designr.
• A model artist that you admire – fine artist, filmmaker, writer, philosopher
All of it!!!.
• A world famous work of art that you admire
I cant tell about one, I love and inspired by many thing I see or reed or think about is admire me, in different moments or the different time of the year….one day I am admire with Salvador Dali, another with some Calatrava pieces.
• A book or author you recommend
Viktor Peleven – “Chepaev and emptiness”.

 

• Which historical or political event do you think most affected your country’s present?
The revolution in 1917.
• Do you practice any religion?
Yes I believe in god!.
• Can you share with us a traditional recipe from your country?
Yes!!! I may cook the best ever Russian thin pancakes one day of the biennial, if you want.
• What is the status or importance of art in your country?
What is the role of the artist in your society?
We dont have any role for artists.
• Have you already been to South America and Argentina?
What are your expectations for the City of Resistencia and its Biennial?
I have been 2 times! First time in Roldan, and then San Martin for 2 sculpture symposium in 2009, since that time I felt in love with that country!!! And I dreamed to came back, than last summer I had that chance and I’ve been in Chaco – Corzuela for another sculpture symposium, than I visited Resistencia, and I was so impressed, so I had a dream to be a part of that greatest art creation, so now I am going to your event, exiting, and dreaming to make something very great for this place, as I sad, I LOVE Argentina with all my hart!.
