Regulation:
1) the Government of the Province of the Chaco together with the Urunday Fundation in the Organizing Committee will carry out the "International Biennial of Sculpture" to be held in the "25 de Mayo de 1810" Square in the city of Resistencia, Chaco, Argentine Republic,
2) The 8 (eigth) selected artists should be backed by prizes in regional, national and international contests, galleries, events, etc., (only sculpture). Four (4) invited sculptors will also take part out of the contest.
3) Each of the 8 (eigth) selected sculptores will receive the amount of U$S 2.000 (two thousand dollars) from the Organizing Committee for the acquisition of the work of art to be done during the contest, which will then become part of the cultural patrimony of Chaco and it will be placed in the streets of Resistencia, the City of the Sculptures. Each out of the constest sculptor will receive U$S 3.000 (three thousand dollars).
4) the prizes will be the following:
First Prize: U$S 4.000 (four thousand dollars)
Second Prize: U$S 3.000 (three thousand dollars)
Third Prize: U$S 2.000 (two thousand dollars)
Public Prize " Juan Alberto García " U$S 1.000 (a thousand dollars)
Children's Prize " Reinaldo Martinez "
Sculptors Prize " Efraín Boglietti "
5) All the artists will also receive a certificate and a medal.
6) Other institutions will be able to award special prizes, those prizes will be known by the participants before the beginning of the contest.
7) the jury will be formed by 3 (three) members appointed by the Organizing Committee and they will do their job visiting the assigned place to each artist whenever they consider it appropriate.
8) the jury will draw a certificate with its decisions and no member can refrain himself/herself from voting at any time. Its veredict shall not be appealed.
9) the work should have the following characteristics:
Selected artists
a) The works should have to be original and unpublised, its subject is free and it cannot be reproduced.
b) The sculpture should be done with marble. The artists will have a block of 1.00 x 0.50 x 0.50 m.
c) The Organizing Committee will provide the artists with a temporal assistant and with compressed air and energy (220 v.) for electric tools.
Invited artists
a) Subject: sonorous and dynamic sculptures, moved by the wind or the spectators.
b) Material: metal.
c) Height: 4(four) meters.
10) The sculptors should send 4 views of the model (with its corresponding bases in case of needing them), and they will have to take all the necessary security precautions in the construction and the support of the work , since once located it will be in direct contact with the Public. The drawings will be used in the Catalogue.
11) The contest will take place under any kind of weather. The timetable for work will be set by the programme of the contest. Once the contest is over, the sculptors will not be able to continue working.
12) Even when the participant finishes his/her work before due time he/she is obliged to remain in the location of the contest until the last day and he/she should be present when prizes are awarded.
13) The participants are obliged to attend all the events prepared by the Organizers.
14) Accommodation expenses for the participants sculptors and the guests out of the contest will be in charge of the Organizing Committee since 6 p.m. of the day before the beginning of the contest and until 10 a.m. after its end, except extra expenses such as telephone, drinks, etc.
15) The participant artists should present a sculpture of a maximun 50 cm. tall to participate on the show of the World Sculptors and 5 (five) slides with his/her works with a clear indentification of the author, title an date.
16) Each participant should have Medical Assistanship Assurance. Otherwise, and in case of any problem, the expenses will be exclusively in the hands of the sculptor.
17) The Organizing Committee keeps all the rights on video taping and photographing done during the contest.
18) In case of not fulfilling any of the items of the current regulations, the Organizing Committee will reserve the rights of either accepting or not the participant.
19) Any other event or circumstance not cover in the current regulations will be decided upon by the Organizing Committee. |
