Regulation: 1) The Government of the Province of Chaco in conjunction with Urunday Foundation as the Organizing Committee will carry out the "International Biennial of Sculpture" to be held in "25 de Mayo de 1810 Square" in the city of Resistencia, Province of Chaco, Argentine Republic from July 19th to July 27th , 2002 2) The eight (8) selected artists should be backed by prizes in regional, national and international contests, art galleries, events, etc. (only in sculpture). 3) Two (2) invited artists will also take part out of the contest. 4) The present contest theme will be: "Solidarity". 5)
The prizes will be the following: 6) All the artists will also receive a certificate and a medal. 7) Other Institutions will be able to award special prizes. Those prizes will be known by the participants before the beginning of the contest. 8) The works will be displayed for a period of ninety (90) days. After that, the authors will be able to take them. If any of the works remains for more than one (1) year, it will be located in the city becoming part of City of the Sculptures' cultural inheritance. 9) The Jury will be formed by three (3) members appointed by the Organizing Committee and they will do their job visiting the artists in their assigned places whenever they consider it appropriate. 10) The Jury will draw a certificate with its decisions and no member can refrain himself/herself from voting at any time. Its verdict shall not be appealed. 11)
The work should have the following characteristics: 12) Sculptors should send 4 views of the model (with its corresponding base if it's necessary) and they will have to take all the safety precautions in the construction and support of the work since once located it will be in direct contact with the Public. The drawings will be used in the Biennial Catalogue. 13) The sculptor will work in an open air place and he/she has to do it under any kind of weather. The working timetable will be set by the contest program . Once the contest is over, the sculptor won't be able to go on working. 14) Even if the participant finishes the job before due time, he/she is obliged to remain in the place of the contest until the last day and he/she should be present when prizes are awarded. 15) The participants are supposed to attend to all the events held by the Organizers. 16) Accommodation expenses for the participants and invited sculptors will be in charge of the Organizing Committee (lodging, breakfast, lunch and dinner) since 6.00 p.m. of the day before the beginning of the contest until 10.00 a.m. of its end, except extra expenses such as telephone calls, drinks, etc. 17) Each participant should have a Medical Assistance Insurance. Otherwise, in case of any problem the expenses will be exclusively in charge of the sculptors. 18) The Organizing Committee keeps all the rights on video recording and photographing done during the contest. The only ads allowed in the working place would be those set by the Organizers. 19) In case of not fulfilling any of the present regulation's items, the Organizing Committee will reserve the rights of either accept the participant or not. 20) Any other event or circumstance not covered by the current regulations will be decided upon by the Organizing Committee. |
